infants.

six weeks to eighteen months

Little children, from the moment they are weaned, are making their way toward independence.

friendly teachers

The infant program at CCM focuses on the individual child’s needs and matches them with Montessori trained teachers and assistants that spend their days caring for the infants’ needs. Our teachers sing, dance, and engage the babies as they seek to help them hit important developmental milestones. Every teacher and assistant is CPR/First Aid/BBP certified and has the Infant Safe Sleep Certification.

individual development

We focus on the development of each infant on their own timeline and speed. Not everyone develops the same way using clear-cut ages for milestones. We partner with parents to allow each infant to develop normally and without pressure. We follow the child and allow them to lead us in how to best engage them.

bright, safe, and fun classroom

Infants build cognitive effectiveness as they touch, see, smell, taste, listen, and explore the physical properties of their environment through the use of specially-designed materials. Our classroom has plenty of windows with a bird feeder just outside for viewing during the day. Toys and books are chosen to help babies to explore their environments. Materials are rotated in and out of the room so that infants are never bored.

low ratios

We deliberately maintain low teacher-to-student ratios, especially considering the intensive care required for infants.
While the state-mandated ratio is 1:4, we maintain a ratio of 1:3 for optimal attention and support.

“The child is both a hope and a promise for mankind.”
-Maria Montessori
